Your Breath of Fresh Air
Publication & UI/UX
When you describe something new or different as a breath of fresh air, you mean that it makes a situation or subject that you already know and experience, more interesting or exciting... This is the mindset I want to educate more people on and back with facts!
I can tell you from experience that mindfulness and creativity have allowed me to slow down and get lost in time. While in the meditative and creative process, I am more aware and sure of my thoughts; which in turn help my mind be clearer.
Another connection I have to the subject is the easy connectivity between this mindset and the outdoors. It’s ever-changing and inspiring to me. I’ve experienced the benefits of nature on my body and mind, and have found passion in photographing the beauty I see! From trips piling up and photos unshared, I knew this project would be a perfect place to showcase them!
Coming in the form of a workbook and sister app; I’ve curated an experience that guides users through mindful meditative practices to help them disconnect from their “every day” and see it in a new light. It’s readers’ breath of fresh air!
Major Touchpoints
-
Standing challenges which are physical outdoor prompts that get people moving and outside. This is a key part of mindfulness. They are spaced out through the book and can be practiced over and over again. Some have prompts on photo inspiration that you can share with others on the app!
-
Breathing exercises are the animated videos found on the app that walk you through different techniques explained in the book.
-
The shared Inspiration feed on the app is a place to document, save and share your inspiration with others; while not letting “social media” overconsume you. The only photos that can be shared are those tagged with a standing challenge!
-
Art prompts include mindful coloring pages and maybe an anger management exercise that gets you swinging a hammer!
